Our garden called to me today, flashing beacons of ruby red.  We're ready, they said.

And so, off we went.

My sister-in-law gave us this basket.  It's the same one Nonna used in her garden.  It has seen a lot of tomatoes.

With our headliners at the ready, all eyes were on this recipe.

Giving the range a workout.

Sterilizing the jars and tools.

.

Blanching the tomatoes.

.

Blanched.

.

Peeled.

.

Told to mingle with the basil.

.

Just finger tight.

.

Back into the water.

.

Bringing the boil.

.

Waiting semi-patiently.

The prize?  Summertime in a jar.  Yum yum yum.
