Looks like we're nearing the end of our harvest, at least as far as the San Marzano tomatoes are concerned.
The habanero peppers, on the other hand, are just starting to show their pretty little orange selves. One of our plants has even toppled over under the weight of its own fruit.
Apparently while I was away, the father-in-law (aka Nonno) took some home to make into a hot oil. He last made a batch (using Scotch Bonnet peppers) about 4 or 5 years ago and we thankfully still have several bottles left. And literally, even just a drop comes with a mighty kick.
Can't wait to see where these spicy lanterns end up.
